WHAT WE OFFER

Full logistics chain from vessel discharge to delivery on site

We supply point to point supervision with our experienced staff monitoring the process from loading to delivery on site. Our transport supervision teams travel with all the loads to ensure that any unforeseen challenges are dealt with immediately.

01

Route surveys & clearance

Prior to the project transport, the route has to be proven feasible. Abnormal Solutions identify access constraints, obstructions, turning challenges and approval requirements from the relevant authorities.

  • Route surveys and access reviews
  • Bridge, overhead and road constraint checks
  • Practical feasibility input for project planning
02

Port operations & discharge

The port is where timing, space, equipment and security meet. Abnormal Solutions coordinate vessel discharge, trailer sequencing, load checks and controlled movement away from the quay to the laydown facility.

  • Port interface management
  • Discharge planning and trailer flow
  • Controlled release from port to staging
03

Abnormal transport coordination

Our teams coordinate the transport process, mitigating all risk and ensuring that delivery schedules and project deadlines are kept.

  • Transport partner coordination
  • Escort and traffic department liaison
  • Daily movement control and communication
04

Saldanha laydown

A secure, close-to-port staging solution designed to reduce congestion, protect components from heavy dust exposure and create a more controlled handover between discharge and onward transport.

  • 85,000m² across three laydown zones
  • 24-hour security and monitoring
  • Dust monitoring and suppresison
05

Stakeholder and authority alignment

Abnormal cargo requires multiple approvals. Abnormal Solutions facilitates the process between the client, port, transporter, escorts, municipalities, traffic departments and site representatives.

  • Permit and approval coordination
  • Movement window planning
  • Escalation and issue resolution
06

Delivery sequencing & site readiness

The last kilometres can be the most sensitive. Components need to arrive in the right order, at the right time, with the right teams ready to receive them safely.

  • Site access coordination
  • Component delivery sequencing
  • Safety, induction and handover discipline

The laydown advantage

A smarter storage solution.

The Abnormal Solutions laydown facility provides a clean, secure, and controlled staging environment strategically located near the Port of Saldanha. While maintaining close proximity for efficient vessel discharge and logistics, the facility is positioned outside the port’s major iron ore dust zone.

Unlike components stored within the port, where exposure to iron ore dust contamination presents a significant challenge, our laydown facility protects wind turbine components from excessive dust exposure. This reduces cleaning requirements, minimises the risk of contamination, and helps preserve component quality throughout the storage and staging process.

The facility also offers significant logistical advantages. By avoiding the traffic congestion typically experienced around the port, it provides quicker access to the main transport corridor, enabling earlier departures, reducing transport delays, and improving the overall efficiency of component deliveries.

Special cargo handling

Wind components and special cargo.

We manage the transport of a wide range of abnormal and oversized loads, from wind turbine components, solar and industrial equipment to luxury yachts. Every project is planned and executed according to its unique requirements

Who this is for

Built for teams carrying infrastructure risk.

The best visitors for this site are not looking for “a truck”. They are looking for a partner who can reduce uncertainty on a project where timing, safety and component value matter.

01Renewable energy developersWind, solar and grid infrastructure projects that require early feasibility, component movement and delivery control.
02OEMs and component suppliersHigh-value cargo entering through port environments and requiring secure staging before project-site release.
03EPC and construction teamsProject teams that need transport sequencing to match installation readiness and programme milestones.
04Mining and industrial clientsHeavy, abnormal or sensitive equipment movements where access, approvals and safety control are critical.

We utilize advanced digital simulation and satellite-verified tracking to plan every step of the journey, long before ground teams move.
