Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is built on partnerships, not subcontracting.
Before any project begins, we align with our partners on the project vision, expectations, and delivery requirements. Strategic preparation meetings are held well in advance, allowing us to set clear timelines, coordinated responsibilities, and transparent communication.

While our transport partners handle the trucks, personnel, equipment, and maintenance, we focus on managing the bigger picture — coordination, oversight, and execution.
This creates one integrated team approach, avoiding fragmented responsibilities and ensuring seamless delivery.

Our Story

Abnormal Solutions Cape Town was founded in 2012 by Franco Bornmann.
Our first major assignments were among South Africa’s pioneering wind farms – the Hopefield and Klipheuwel wind farms near Caledon.

Since then, we’ve played a key role in over 40 wind farm projects nationwide, working alongside leading international companies in the renewable energy industry.

While our core expertise lies in wind energy logistics, we’ve successfully managed projects in solar, mining, and other heavy industries, expanding our solutions to diverse abnormal transport challenges

.Our reach extends beyond South Africa, with successful projects completed in Namibia, Gabon, and Central Africa, and a strategic focus on expanding further into neighbouring African countries.

Let’s Plan Your Next Move

Whether it’s renewable energy, mining, or heavy industry, Abnormal Solutions is your trusted logistics partner. Our team is ready to plan, coordinate, and deliver your next project with precision and reliability.

About Abnormal Solutions

Built for the movements that carry infrastructure forward.

Abnormal Solutions exists for projects where the cargo is too valuable, too large or too programme-critical to be left to assumption. We bring practical abnormal logistics knowledge into the planning, coordination and execution of complex project movements.

Why We Exist

Because abnormal cargo exposes weak planning quickly.

When a blade, tower section, transformer or heavy industrial component moves, every unresolved detail becomes visible. A tight corner becomes a stoppage. A missing approval becomes a delay. Poor staging becomes a quality concern. A weak handover becomes a project issue.

Abnormal Solutions was built around a simple belief: complex cargo needs practical control before, during and after the movement. The route must be understood. The port interface must be managed. The storage decision must protect the component. The delivery sequence must support the site.

That is why we operate as more than a transport contact. We work as the logistics control layer between the client, port, transporter, authorities, escorts, security teams and site representatives — helping keep the movement aligned when the project cannot afford confusion.

Our Values

Premium logistics is a standard, not a finish.

The work happens in demanding environments where timing, safety, communication and cargo condition matter. Our values are practical. They shape how decisions are made when the project is under pressure.

01

Integrity

Clear information, honest constraints and practical recommendations before a movement becomes committed.

02

Reliability

Project teams need logistics partners who follow through, communicate early and stay accountable under pressure.

03

Trust

Complex movement depends on confidence between clients, transporters, ports, authorities and site teams.

04

Safety

Every decision must respect the road, the cargo, the people and the communities affected by abnormal movements.

05

Control

The goal is not to make the operation louder. It is to make it calmer, clearer and easier to manage.

Experience

Field-tested across renewable energy and industrial movement.

Abnormal Solutions has supported major wind farm logistics and abnormal cargo movements across South Africa and broader African operations. That experience matters because every route, port, province and site introduces a different kind of constraint.

The learning from one project improves the planning on the next — how components are staged, how authorities are engaged, where routes become sensitive and how delivery should be sequenced when the programme is under pressure.

The Operating Standard

The right plan should make the hard parts easier to see.

Abnormal logistics does not become premium because it looks impressive. It becomes premium when the client knows what is happening, why it matters and what the next decision should be.

We make constraints visible early.

A difficult route, tight turn or sensitive access point is easier to solve before cargo arrives, permits are urgent and the programme is already exposed.

We coordinate the people behind the movement.

Ports, transporters, authorities, escorts, security teams and site teams all need to understand the same plan — not only their isolated part of it.

We protect the cargo and the programme.

Component care, dust exposure, staging quality and movement timing are treated as project risks, not afterthoughts.
